This system is a simplified version of one used by a government contractor to manage a personnel services contract. The contract specifies various types of positions and where each position is located.  The contractor must keep track of which positions are currently staffed, who the person is filling the position, and whether any candidates have been identified for vacant positions. In addition, the system provides historical data on who has previously filled positions,  and statistical data on turnover and vacancy times.

This system has been simplified in this demonstration version in order to make the it easier to understand without training, and to eliminate some arcane business rules specific to the contract as well as  some specialized reports and administrative functions. In the actual system, different privileges are given to various user types (administrators, managers, etc.), but here everyone who logs in has all privileges.
